FRISCO, TX — The Lone Star Conference released their preseason basketball poll Tuesday afternoon. The rankings come one week before ASU tips off against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on Monday, November 4.
The Rams were picked to finish fifth in the 18-team conference after closing the 2018-19 season with a 13-5 conference record, 21-9 overall. ASU received 2 first place votes and 687 total, just 8 votes behind fourth place Tarleton.
The conference polled head coaches, sports information directors, and various media representatives throughout the region in order to make the final predictions.
West Texas A&M was voted to finish first after going 34-4 last year. They received 27 first place votes and 826 total.
